1
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.
2
When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
3
His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
4
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

The verse 2 of this hymn keeps me going. There are actually time when I think God is not there but my anchor holds on to His promises knowing He is Jehovah Nisi, the one who is ever present in times of trouble and this keeps me going. Here is verse 2:
When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

My mind was beginning to fill with fear and worry this afternoon. Then this song came to me: On Christ the Solid Rock I stand all other ground is sinking sand... Thank you Lord for reminding me who to turn to when the storms of life are tossing me all over the place. You are truly Jehovah Shalom, God of Peace!

Before waking, remembered hearing the melody and words: "My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ, my righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus' name."

My younger brother has been posting discouraging statement on his whatsapp status, I needed words to encourage him, when I opened my web page, this was the song displayed.... I just knew this was the rain right hymn for him.

2:30 AM canโt sleep started thinking about Christ the solid rock this song came to me, I didnโt know all the words to it so I looked it up it was one of the first songs I sang as a Christian and thereโs so much hope and strength and encouragement built into this song to truly express the Living Rock Jesus Christ, To Him be all Glory and Praise.
