1
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.
2
When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
3
His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
4
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

Marcia willis, me too! I am up at 1:00 but around 12:30 I was waiting for my car to warm up and this part popped in my head
"When He shall come, with trumpet sound
Oh, may I then, in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
Faultless stand before the throne."
I got in my car and this song was playing.

Awake at 1:30 am. Jesus sent me this hymn. Thank you Lord.
We often don't realize just how much God through Jesus Christ has given us. He literally gives us His righteousness to stand blameless before God the Father.

Last night I awakened and began to think and worry about all kinds of things. Gradually I became aware of the words of this song repeating in my mind. I let the two verses I remembered play over until I fell asleep. I came to this site to find the remaining words to post on Facebook this morning to encourage others. Thank you Jesus for being The Solid Rock and thank you for being there for me!

The breadth of previous comments, the vast numbers of countries of residence, and the consistent mention of being "woken" to this song playing in their heart/mind tells me, again, of the love our Father has for us and that the Holy Spirit is alive and active in this world of turmoil!! Thank you, Jesus.

Bradley McKenzie, Did you write the adaptation dated Jan. 8. That is really good. Thanks.

So long our hope was something less than Jesus' blood and righteousness.
We dared to trust another frame and failed to lean on Jesus' name.
Now darkness seems to veil His face. Do we too late appeal for grace?
Now in a high and stormy gale, have we that anchor 'yond the veil?
His oath, His covenant, His blood, of which availed amidst the flood,
When all around our soul gives way, should yet well be our hope and stay.
Then, when He comes with trumpet sound, in Him we shall indeed be found,
dressed in His righteousness alone, faultless to stand before the throne!
On Christ, the solid Rock, we stand. All other ground is sinking sand.
