I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice

1
I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
  And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith,
  And be closer drawn to Thee.

Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
  To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
    To Thy precious, bleeding side.
2
Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
  By the pow'r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
  And my will be lost in Thine.
3
O the pure delight of a single hour
  That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
  I commune as friend with friend!
4
There are depths of love that I yet may know
  Ere Thee face to face I see;
There are heights of joy that I yet may reach
  Ere I rest in peace with Thee.

This indeed is one of the highly inspiring hymns that put at the frame of mind and get easily connect with the SUPERNATURAL.

Just woke up with this precious tune in my spirit. I searched for it online and found it here. I sang it a few times and felt desirous of drawing closer to The Lord Jesus Christ today than ever.

My husband and I went to the cemetery today to spend time with our daughter on her birthday. At noon, the bells started playing this song. Our daughter was cremated and her remains are near a large boulder with her name, date of birth and death. She's in a wonderful place called Serenity Garden. There's a babbling brook that cascades over rocks down to a pool with a fountain. It's very peaceful and the song made the day seem better in spite of the reason for our being there.

I sang this song as a child in church. I loved it then and I love it now. Even though I am inspired by the contemporary Christian music of today, old hymns such as these stand the test of time. Awesome song. Awesome God!
