I also read my daily bread today and remembered this song. It is a reminder of the love God has for us and all the gifts He gives to us that we take for granted or don't even remember we have. We don't have to carry our burdens , our pains, our sins. We just have to come to Jesus's feet and lay them before Him and pray with Him and talk to Him. His love is the healing our souls need.

I woke up this morning after reading my daily devotion, this song came to my mind. It had been a long time since I had song it. So I began singing and praising God for being my friend. I had a really bad headache when I got up this morning and felt the need to just sing and praise God through it. Thank You Lord Jesus Christ for being my friend whom I can take everything to Him in prayer. I know He loves me and will never leave or forsake.

Just heard this on the radio. The author lost his fiancée weeks before the marriage, mourned 12 years, came out and fell in love again to have his second fiancée die days before the wedding. He sent this poem to his mother who was passing, as he was unable to afford a trip home to see her again. He learned in all his sorrow that God wanted to be there and comfort him. What a friend we have in Jesus!!!
