1
When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
Count your blessings, name them one by one;
Count your blessings, see what God hath done;
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
2
Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will be singing as the days go by.
Count your blessings, name them one by one;
Count your blessings, see what God hath done;
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
3
When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold.
Count your many blessings, money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your Lord on high.
Count your blessings, name them one by one;
Count your blessings, see what God hath done;
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
4
So amid the conflict, whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.
Count your blessings, name them one by one;
Count your blessings, see what God hath done;
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Now 66 I first heard this lovely hymn in the little gospel mission in Gt Harwood when Frank Talbot was pastor. He has been with the Lord many years now but this beautiful hymn always takes me back to my beginnings and when I count my blessings he and all the faithful Sunday school teachers are included.

I love this so much my granddad ran a Misson hall when I was young. We would go on Sunday school outings and sing this and many others.

May we count our blessings and see what the Lord has done in Jesus' Name. Yes, it seems as if where is God but remember His words cannot fail. His words will surely come to pass in your life, in my life in Jesus Name. Trust on, Trust on, Believer Though Dark the night may be. We will surely rejoice at the end in Jesus Name. Thanks for uploading this song and God bless you all. Shalom!!!

More often than not and especially when we are facing difficulties, we forget what GOD has done for us in the past. When I look back and see what GOD has done for me, I feel so humbled and short of words to thank HIM. May GOD help me to never forget all the Blessings He has bestowed upon us. Thank You GOD for this far you have brought me, for all that You have done/continued doing for me... May Your Name be Glorified forever.

When my mother was very sick, stricken with stroke and all my friends where nowhere to be found, this song gave me courage and gave me hope beyond this world..She finally rested from the pain but full of smile and joy.
The song has been my reason for living and find hope in Jesus.

Just yesterday amid the so great a confliict I was getting tired of talking to God, my husband opened my eyes to see the great and awesome blessings, mercy, miracles, deliverance, mighty hands upon our lives just before now... Soon I forgot all my worries, asked for forgiveness for being ungrateful and started praising Him... Let's praise/thank God more dan we ask of Him because He dwells in the praises of His people.....Philippians 1:6.

This appears to be my favorite hymn. If I can put in one word what God has done and still is doing in my life, it will be "awesome". Nothing is worth to pay for his kind gestures. But to say thank you. Because if we try to pay Him for everything, we will stay indebted to Him forever. Though we are indebted to God forever!

I love this hymn. Any time I sing it, it reminds me and indeed every Christian that no matter what one passes or one is passing through, your blessing from God is constantly available. just Count them, they are innumerable!!!!! MY LORD IS GREAT!
