Will your anchor hold in the storms of life

1
Will your anchor hold in the storms of life,
When the clouds unfold their wings of strife?
When the strong tides lift, and the cables strain,
Will your anchor drift or firm remain?

We have an anchor that keeps the soul
Stedfast and sure while the billows roll,
Fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
  Grounded firm and deep in the Savior’s love.
2
It is safely moored, ’twill the storm withstand,
For ’tis well secured by the Savior’s hand;
And the cables passed from His heart to mine,
Can defy the blast, through strength divine.
3
It will firmly hold in the straits of fear,
When the breakers have told the reef is near;
Though the tempest rave and the wild winds blow,
Not an angry wave shall our bark o’erflow.
4
It will surely hold in the floods of death,
When the waters cold chill our latest breath;
On the rising tide it can never fail,
While our hopes abide within the veil.

I have an anchor(my Lord Jesus Christ) that keeps my soul steadfast and sure while the billows roll.

I am really blessed by this song today being Sunday as we sang it in the chapel of Salvation University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital where World grear gospel singer Dr. Panam Pancy Paul shared the word of God to us.

What an encouragement . The hymn surfaced in my thoughts early this morning (4 am). I was reflecting on/about the church of Jesus Christ locally and globally. I realized the gates of hell will not prevail against it. I have an " Anchor" and will trust in my God Almighty. Praise be to His Name. Amen

A beautiful hymn that took me straight back to my early days in the Boys Brigade. As the lyrics suggest, we all need an anchor, the BB to a large degree was mine and certainly the Christian foundation that it gave me for life.

Thank you.

I woke up with this song this morning and decided to Google it. I am so glad to find it here. Though I have known the song from my youth it ministered to my soul afresh and has also prepared me for the Sunday service. God bless this forum.

I am a Gospel Music Minister, I woke up with this song in mind, not really having the full lyrics available, so I searched it up on the net and wallah! I found it here, since then, I've been singing and my spirit, my faith is lifted. So many things were running through my mind since the day before, but this song has given me strength and honestly it doesn't matter now what comes my, I know I have an anchor which can not move. Thank you so much for laboring to make treasures like this hymns available to us online. God bless you richly!
