I’ve found a friend in Jesus, He’s everything to me

1
I’ve found a friend in Jesus, He’s everything to me,
  He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul;
The Apple-tree of trees, in Him alone I see
  All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole.
In sorrow He’s my comfort, in trouble He’s my stay,
  He tells me every care on Him to roll:
He’s the Apple-tree of trees, the Bright and Morning Star,
  He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.
2
He all my griefs has taken, and all my sorrows borne;
  In temptation He’s my strong and mighty tower;
I’ve all for Him forsaken, and all my idols torn
  From my heart, and now He keeps me by His power.
Though all the world forsake me, and Satan tempt me sore,
  Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal:
He’s the Apple-tree of trees, the Bright and Morning Star,
  He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.
3
He’ll never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here,
  While I live by faith and do His blessed will;
A wall of fire about me, I’ve nothing now to fear,
  With His manna He my hungry soul shall fill.
Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessed face,
  Where rivers of delight shall ever roll:
He’s the Apple-tree of trees, the Bright and Morning Star,
  He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.

I just woke up around 3.00 am singing this very song. Though I did not remember the wordings, the urge, the awesomeness of it made me to goggle the first line of the song and I got it. Before going to bed the previous night, I had a burden in my heart of disappointment from someone I least expected, but the good Lord gave me this song just to console me. I bless the name of the Lord, for I know He cares.

This song came to me this morning while waiting for my colleagues to start off the day's work. I googled a phrase in the hymn and found myself clicking the link to this site to get the full lyrics. Am not sure what is about to happen. But being currently miles away from home (in Bangalore, India), it may be that He wants to reassure me of His constant presence - no matter where I am anywhere on the globe.

I had a strong urge and an unwavering compulsion to sing this song. I have sang it in the past but the urge had never been like what led me to this website. First, I listened to the lyrics and it appears as if I have never paid the desirable attention to the song. I am still listening to the song been played on the web site, yet the initial urge is still gaining momentum. The song is a substance to my faith.

This song is a song of reassurance. The Lord gave me this song to sing in my revelation this morning. This song re-emphasized the Master's support and backing in whatever He orders us to do. It is a song of one of the attributes of God, His Omnipresence.

A sister requested this song at a meeting once. She said she sang it everyday to school when she was younger. It's an encouraging song.

If anyone wants to find out what a true definition of a friend is, either as an exercise to determine whether that person can truly call himself a friend to another person, or to measure whether a so called friend is a friend indeed, one only have to sing this song and the answer will readily be apparent. Tell me which friend can lay his life down for another even when that person is not faithful- a big gamble, yet Jesus paid the price and died for us while we were yet sinners. This is what this song mean to me...

It is most inspiring as mighty source of comfort and encouragement.

I like this song because it reassures me that in evrything there is a Big friend Jesus that knows everthing about me and with Him beside me I can do all things.

Going through wild and tough times in a strange land far from home. This song tells me that the greatest friend and comforter (JESUS) is always with me ANY TIME AND ANYWHERE.

The best of all my hymns. It encourages me that by Jesus alone, I must surely get to the goal I am pursuing. I sing it regularly and recommend it to everybody.
