I've found a friend in Jesus, He's everything to me,
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul;
The Apple-tree of trees, in Him alone I see
All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole.
In sorrow He's my comfort, in trouble He's my stay,
He tells me every care on Him to roll:
He's the Apple-tree of trees, the Bright and Morning Star,
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul;

He all my griefs has taken, and all my sorrows borne;
In temptation He's my strong and mighty tower;
I've all for Him forsaken, and all my idols torn
From my heart, and now He keeps me by His power.
Though all the world forsake me, and Satan tempt me sore,
Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal:
He's the Apple-tree of trees, the Bright and Morning Star,
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.
In temptation He's my strong and mighty tower;

He'll never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here,
While I live by faith and do His blessed will;
A wall of fire about me, I've nothing now to fear,
With His manna He my hungry soul shall fill.
Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessed face,
Where rivers of delight shall ever roll:
He's the Apple-tree of trees, the Bright and Morning Star,
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.
While I live by faith and do His blessed will;
A wall of fire about me, I've nothing now to fear,
With His manna He my hungry soul shall fill.
Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessed face,
Where rivers of delight shall ever roll:
He's the Apple-tree of trees, the Bright and Morning Star,
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.

Indeed He is the lily of the valley, the bright and the morning star, a Friend who sticketh closer than a brother. The lyrics of the hymn just lifted me up and placed my feet on higher ground. I know His mighty arm holds me as I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. Nothing can harm me as long as Jesus the Nazarene is my Friend.

I am blessed with this song, this is wonderful piece both the lyric and the music, amazing, soothing, and uplifting. God bless the composer and author and his generation, may they experience bliss in the one and only God Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

It's good to know that we have found a friend in Jesus, I was just worried inside me all I remember from my worring is I have found a friend in Jesus. The more I sing this song my soul rejoice; I feel great inside me. What I know for sure is that, my Jesus won't forget me no matter what and my fellow friends hang in there our Saviour is here right now. And Jesus will surely reward us with good. Remember to come back to Christ even if you think you are the worst sinner, Jesus is waiting.

I was trying to comfort a friend who lost a very dear and long time friend and the words to this song came to my memory. I wanted to remember all the lyrics, so found this site. What a blessing to hear the testimonies of brothers and sisters all over the globe. Indeed what a wonderful friend we have in Jesus. Praise God for the salvation given through His Son Jesus. Love you all and I pray for God's blessing and protection in your lives.

A reassuring song that the only 'loving' friend is Jesus, none else. Preaching on the altar and ending the preaching with this song and seeing tears flowing from people's eyes in very sober mood got me religiously attached to this song. I believe all my burdens are gone. Praise the Lord Jesus.

I was heavily burdened in my heart today because of the situation I am going through but while I listen to this song I gained reassurance from my burden bearer (Jesus Christ) who is able to do all things to His glory. Praise be to His name.

I grew up listenting to this song. I am more familar with a slower country version but I can't seem to find the female artist. I glad I knew this song as a kid because it keeps reminding me of God's love and the relationship He wants with us.

I just woke up around 3.00 am singing this very song. Though I did not remember the wordings, the urge, the awesomeness of it made me to goggle the first line of the song and I got it. Before going to bed the previous night, I had a burden in my heart of disappointment from someone I least expected, but the good Lord gave me this song just to console me. I bless the name of the Lord, for I know He cares.

This song came to me this morning while waiting for my colleagues to start off the day's work. I googled a phrase in the hymn and found myself clicking the link to this site to get the full lyrics. Am not sure what is about to happen. But being currently miles away from home (in Bangalore, India), it may be that He wants to reassure me of His constant presence - no matter where I am anywhere on the globe.
