There is a fountain filled with blood
Drawn from Immanuel’s veins;
And sinners, plunged beneath that flood,
Lose all their guilty stains:
Lose all their guilty stains,
Lose all their guilty stains;
And sinners, plunged beneath that flood,
Lose all their guilty stains.
Drawn from Immanuel’s veins;
And sinners, plunged beneath that flood,
Lose all their guilty stains:
Lose all their guilty stains,
Lose all their guilty stains;
And sinners, plunged beneath that flood,
Lose all their guilty stains.

The dying thief rejoiced to see
That fountain in his day;
And there may I, though vile as he,
Wash all my sins away:
Wash all my sins away,
Wash all my sins away;
And there may I, though vile as he,
Wash all my sins away.
That fountain in his day;
And there may I, though vile as he,
Wash all my sins away:
Wash all my sins away,
Wash all my sins away;
And there may I, though vile as he,
Wash all my sins away.

Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood
Shall never lose its power,
Till all the ransomed ones of God
Be saved, to sin no more:
Be saved, to sin no more,
Be saved, to sin no more;
Till all the ransomed ones of God,
Be saved to sin no more.
Shall never lose its power,
Till all the ransomed ones of God
Be saved, to sin no more:
Be saved, to sin no more,
Be saved, to sin no more;
Till all the ransomed ones of God,
Be saved to sin no more.

E’er since by faith I saw the stream
Thy flowing wounds supply,
Redeeming love has been my theme,
And shall be till I die:
And shall be till I die,
And shall be till I die;
Redeeming love has been my theme,
And shall be till I die.
Thy flowing wounds supply,
Redeeming love has been my theme,
And shall be till I die:
And shall be till I die,
And shall be till I die;
Redeeming love has been my theme,
And shall be till I die.

When this poor lisping, stammering tongue
Lies silent in the grave,
Then in a nobler, sweeter song,
I’ll sing Thy power to save:
I’ll sing Thy power to save,
I’ll sing Thy power to save;
Then in a nobler, sweeter song,
I’ll sing Thy power to save.
Lies silent in the grave,
Then in a nobler, sweeter song,
I’ll sing Thy power to save:
I’ll sing Thy power to save,
I’ll sing Thy power to save;
Then in a nobler, sweeter song,
I’ll sing Thy power to save.

I remember this hymn as a child sung in church with "Bigmomma" with no understanding of God, no worries as a child; I hated to hear the song. Now, some years later, it's one of my favorites, I belt it out in troublesome times with joy, thankfulness, and humility. Thank God for the fountain.

Brother William Cowper, a devote man prone to episodes of mental illness and depression wrote this beautiful hymn. Which is one of my favorites of all time. GOD breathed these wonderful words of praise into his soul - GOD isn't looking for superstars. In fact, GOD only uses broken things. It was a broken law that cried for a broken Saviour. It is a broken Saviour that looks for a broken heart. For only could a broken heart receive a crucified Saviour. Blessings, Love, and Light through Christ Jesus the LORD. ✝️❤🕯📖🙏🕊💒

It's that time of the year again to ponder over the sacrificial life and death of Jesus and no hymn does it better than this one! I'm so moved to be blessed by this hynm again tonight!

This is my favorite hymn! I have a copy of Olney Hymns. There are two additional stanzas that are left off of current hymnals.
6. Lord I believe thou hast prepared
(Unworthy though I be)
For me a blood-bought free reward,
A golden harp for me.
7. ‘Tis strung, and tuned, for endless years,
And formed by power divine;
To sound to God the Father’s ears
No other name but thine.
