Fill My Cup, Lord

LSM207 NS340
1
Like the woman at the well, I was seeking
For things that could not satisfy.
And then I heard my Savior speaking—
"Draw from My well that never shall run dry."

Fill my cup, Lord;
I lift it up Lord;
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul.
Bread of Heaven, feed me till I want no more.
Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole.
2
There are millions in this world who are seeking
For pleasures earthly goods afford.
But none can match the wondrous treasure
That I find in Jesus Christ my Lord.
3
So my brother if the things that this world gives you
Leave hungers that won't pass away,
My blessed Lord will come and save you
If you kneel to Him and humbly pray—

Beautiful, meaningful song we sang in church years ago. Seems these old hymns have passed away, and given in to modern, repetitive songs (not that I don't like many of those too, but I wish we could include the old as well).

I was empty broken felt lost and gave up on the life I was given.

I heard this song and not I but Christ filled my emptiness oh where do I begin

I bless the Lord God for this song.

We sang it in the church today.

I didn’t know it has many verses, until I goggle it.

I felt so blessed and satisfied that I’m able to download it. PRAISE THE LORD GOD.

So inspiring, having all it takes to fill the "spirit". This piece is an award winning piece. Am so blessed listening to it over and over again.

I came across this hymn back to my youth years when I only found the melody was good without really digging deep into it. I’m a retiree now, this hymn came to me accidentally yesterday, I listened to it repeatedly and appreciated how true it was telling. Yes, my cup of life needed to be filled, not by the earthy treasures which will surely be passed away one day, but by the eternal substance only be given in Jesus Christ.
