1
I must tell Jesus all of my trials;
I cannot bear these burdens alone;
In my distress He kindly will help me;
He ever loves and cares for His own.

I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!
I cannot bear my burdens alone;
I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!
  Jesus can help me, Jesus alone.
2
I must tell Jesus all of my troubles;
He is a kind, compassionate Friend;
If I but ask Him, He will deliver,
And in my griefs with me He will blend.
3
Tempted and tried I need a great Savior,
One who can help my burdens to bear;
I must tell Jesus, I must tell Jesus;
He all my cares and sorrows will share,
4
O how the world to evil allures me!
O how my heart is tempted to sin!
I must tell Jesus; He will enable
Over the world the vic'try to win.

The Spirit brought this song to mind today as I thought through several challenges... I could only remember the refrain so I Googled. Now reading the many comments and testimonies here, I'm amazed anew at the awesomeness of this God who is everywhere every time; listening, answering, comforting, encouraging, delivering, working all things for the good of those who love Him. And all we have to do is tell Him! That is pretty cool!

I thank God for all of you who have shared. Your stories of struggle and victory are equally encouraging. May God meet each one of you at your point of need.

Let's keep telling Jesus!

I woke up this moning, thinking about life situations surrounding me with so many challenges and this song came to me. As a little kid I sang this hymn with my parents most especially my mum in the midst of trouble. I feel Jesus is already listening.

In times like this, I need the Savior now then before. I have been offered an admission at Europe (UK) to study Masters program and I am now looking for scholarship but no where to go. But as the refrain of the hymn goes " I must tell Jesus, Jesus can help me, Jesus alone.

I know very well that with the prayers of love ones, everything shall be well.

I love this old hymn I heard as a child. I have belivied in Jesus as our only hope and Savior, The problem is emotional an relational problems where no answer seems to come. Ex.a daughter who has not spoken to me in 10 yrs. For no reason and the pain that causes. Lots of others like me I'm sure.

I woke up this morning with this song going over in my mind. My daughter has court today and I don't know how it will turn out. I have placed her in His hand and I pray His will into her life. More than anything I pray she will be saved. When I got up hearing this song I couldn't wait to get into His presence and tell Him I love Him and I know she is in the hands of a just God no matter the outcome.

I am in a rehab facility recuperating from surgery. I had lung cancer and my doctor had to remove the upper left lobe of my lung. One of my favorite caregivers came in this morning singing this song in her heart. It is beautiful and life changing. I was worried because I was getting a roommate after having been alone for 5 days. We said a little prayer and she left me feeling so good. Long story short I got a great roommate and to my surprise I am going home tomorrow. Praise God and thank You Jesus.

The song inspired a lot of hope in me. I have a listener closer to me than a brother, wife, husband, name it. Jesus I love You more...Amen.

I'm so thankful for the hymns inspired by God. A dear woman sang this at a previous church my husband pastored. There have been times when I have been completely overwhelmed with trials and heartaches, and even if you have a loving family, sometimes there is absolutely no one on earth who can understand us like our Lord. He's the One who knows our thoughts even before we think them and our words while they are still on our tongue, and what a comfort to know He is a friend who is closer than a brother. When it seems dark, Christ is my light...I must tell Jesus!!

Just out if the blue this song came to mind today February 8th 2016. I'm so very thankful to have had parents who passed the face to me and my siblings. They took us to church and in church I learned hymns and I so miss them in the modern day church today. Though the music is good, there is just something about these old hymns. I hope and pray that I will never forget them, and that I can pass them down to my children.

Revised version:

1. I must tell Jesus all of my trials;

I cannot bear these burdens alone;

In distress, He alone can assist me;

Wipe my tears, sympathize with His own.

Chorus:

I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!

Pour out my heart to Jesus alone;

I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!

He knows, He comforts—Jesus alone.

2. I must tell Jesus all of my troubles;

I cannot bear my burdens alone;

My affairs, only Jesus can shoulder;

Comfort and soothe me—Jesus alone.

3. I must tell Jesus all my shortcomings;

I cannot face my worries alone;

I taste His riches, my need supplying,

More than sufficient—Jesus alone.

4. I must tell Jesus all of my weakness;

I can't o'ercome flesh, lust, on my own;

From law of sin, from all of my bondage,

He can release me—Jesus alone.

5. I must tell Jesus all my temptations;

I can't withstand the tempter alone.

In a like manner Jesus was tempted;

Jesus can rescue—Jesus alone.
