What a Friend we have in Jesus

This song gives me comfort and peace! Great reminder to take everything to Him in prayer! He is always there to listen.

This is actually a letter written from the writer to his mother that was used as a hymn. (Joseph Scriven). Go to YouTube and watch the story of him. This was a man of faith toward God and trusted so much. The story is heart felt and great history of the writing.

It is only since last year that I have realised that there is so much truth in this hymn. Jesus is our Faithful Friend. One who will listen, guide and teach us. One who will comfort in time of need. One who will strengthen us. Yes, we can lose out on so much if we do not believe or trust in Jesus' ability to accomplish all that that we ask of Him. What a Saviour, what Friend. Let us sit at the feet of the Saviour as Mary did. Let nothing distract us from hearing from our Lord and faithful Friend.

An awesome song...loving it all time.

It's 8:12am and I woke up with this song on my mind, a song I grew up singing as a child, at church, and frequently sung at home during devotion. There's been so much pain in my life for the last 3 years, especially mistreatment at work. I've been trying to fight the battles on my own. I'm so thankful to God this morning for reminding me to take it all to Him in prayer. I feel so much love and care coming from God through the words of this song. I am encouraged. Lord I thank You.

It's 2.30am and it's been a restless night so far, but praises be to GOD the gentle melody of 'what a friend we have in Jesus' breaks over my soul like the soothing summer breeze. I am reminded that my soul's anguish can be averted by taking the matter to the Lord in prayer, for He cares for me. Thank You Holy Spirit.

Indeed what a friend we have in Jesus. He is ever ready to carry every burden we place on Him. Thank You Jesus for this great provision. I know that even as I sing this song, the Holy Spirit will take over. I don't need to bear any pain and forfeit my peace for He will extend peace to me. Hallelujah!!!!

God so often speaks through songs - I know it's Him when I wake up with a song in mind that I have not heard in a long time. With just a few lyrics and the melody in my mind, I searched online for the full hymn and found this page. Like many of you, God brought this song to mind for a time and a purpose today. Pay attention to these messages! God has so much to say to us. Sometimes He's such a chatterbox :)

What a friend indeed we have in Jesus, He actually knows our weakness and He will answer us if we take it to the Lord in prayer. It has work for me it can also work for you, take that matter to Him.

Praise the Lord!! My very best friend had been constant on my mind, so I call her. She explained her trouble's, and the Holy Spirit pinned the words of this song on my heart. I explained to her that the mystery behind her problem's rest within this Hymn. I also told her, that the enemy would come quickly, to try to discourage her to not talk to me anymore, because I know he hates me, nevertheless, I instructed her to tell Satan to get Thee Behind, and praise God in advance for what He has already done. Amen.
