What a Friend we have in Jesus

1
What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
  Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
  Everything to God in prayer!
2
Have we trials and temptations?
  Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
3
Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
  Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
  Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.

I love this song

Just heard the history of the author’s life. Certainly puts some depth to the words, from a man that faced some real set backs without knowing the reason why but found the solace referred to in the lyrics!

Thank You, Spirit of the Living God!

It's 1:50am here in Nigeria. I woke up not able to sleep as I have some career decisions to make. The verse that came to my mind was, "are you weak and heavy laden" I reached for my phone to search for the whole song to read the words , meditate and pray with it.

Indeed God is good.

Nice old standard hymn. A friend of mine gave me a music box today, Mother’s Day 2019, and it plays this song, “what a friend we have in Jesus“. 😇

Riding the elevator to see a tough case. Beautiful nurse humming a tune to herself. "What's the tune?" I ask. The nurse responds with a smile, "what a friend we have in Jesus" and we smile. Needed to be near Him at that moment.

Playing the guitar was my dream. Have been trying since my school time, never continued classes for some reason or other. At the age of 36, I asked God to teach me and committed that I will only play gospel music. It's 2 years now I can play around 20 songs having learnt myself. This song was my first .

Brothers and Sisters,

I encourage everyone to incorporate hymns in your daily devotions in your quiet time to the Lord. Sing to the Lord. Let Him be your audience as you sing praise to Him.

Dear brothers and sisters I invite anyone seeking fellowship, support, find your nearest local church at localchurches.org

Much Grace and Comfort to the brothers in Nigeria in their loss.

Still mourning on the death of our dear Shepherd. My Pastor, who went to be with the Lord on Tuesday In a ghastly motor accident while coming back for a Church member's family funeral.

This is great blow to the Church at large and most importantly our local assembly. Both the family and the Church just lost a great man of God. He loved the Lord , has passion for His work (Evangelism), his zeal to Gods work no one can match it . And to top it up, he loved people not only believers, always generous to listen and give comforting and encouraging word. God has used him greatly in the live of so many.

Today is Sunday and I'm so scare to go to Church, as if today should just disappear.

The song came into my heart this morning and I know JESUS knows it all and He bears all our grieves. JESUS will heal the family and the Church. Amen. Good morning.
