O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free.
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
O’er us sin no more hath dominion
For more than conqu’rors we are!
He passed, and we follow Him there;
O’er us sin no more hath dominion
For more than conqu’rors we are!

His Word shall not fail you, He promised;
Believe Him and all will be well;
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!
Believe Him and all will be well;
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!

I only knew of the beautiful chorus, till today, then I found the rest of this great hymn. Jesus is better than we can imagine.

Beautiful song. On one level turning our eyes on Jesus helps us overcome hardship, but He's just so beautiful and so incomprehendingly good that the more aware of Him and His true nature we are, even really good things on this earth are just less interesting by comparison. I wish I was in this zone so much more.

We sang this yesterday at church and it changed my attitude towards life and all its challenges. I love the chorus so much it spoke straight to my heart.

"Paul not only counted all things loss for the sake of Christ, but counted all things as dung. According to his accounting, everything meant nothing. Because he always counted everything loss for the sake of Christ, he constantly enjoyed Christ. The more things you deny, the more Christ will replace you and the more He becomes your experience and enjoyment. Our slogan should be this: "Oh, that I may gain Christ!""

Yes, my prolonged difficulty, unrelieved pain, makes me to turn my eyes upon Jesus. His life was not of ease and fame. It was of the cross. His life makes me to hope in God who raised Him from death. Yes, He is risen. He is living in me and with me forever as my Lord and Savior. He overcame. He prevailed. I love You, Jesus, my God, my Lord!

Yes it is scripturally TRUE. As I go through what I am going through, only my focus on His Holy Face will dismiss and still the storm and Birth a Miracle that I so crucially need. Thank You JESUS

O how we need to turn our eyes to our dear Lord Jesus and behold Him constantly! He will be so near and so dear to us!
