Take my life, and let it be

1
Take my life, and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee;
Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in ceaseless praise,
Let them flow in ceaseless praise.
2
Take my hands, and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love;
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee,
Swift and beautiful for Thee.
3
Take my voice, and let me sing
Always, only, for my King;
Take my lips, and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee,
Filled with messages from Thee.
4
Take my silver and my gold;
Not a mite would I withhold;
Take my intellect, and use
Every power as Thou shalt choose,
Every power as Thou shalt choose.
5
Take my will, and make it Thine;
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart; it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne,
It shall be Thy royal throne.
6
Take my love; my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure-store.
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee,
Ever, only, all for Thee.

This is the song of my heart.....take my life, Lord! I offer myself to You as a living sacrifice.

This song is the best hymn that all Christians should sing daily. God bless the writer.

I covert a truly yielded heart like the one that birthed this song. As you enjoy the blessing and serenity the song unleashes into your spirit, please also pause briefly to pray for me and for the many who so desire, that we will receive the grace and the tenacity to truly yield our ALL to God for His good pleasure.

Wonderful: Take myself and I will be, ever, only, all for THEE...

Why can't the whole world start the day like this: TAKE MY LIFE...

This was one of the best songs I ever heard when growing up, attending the St. Thomas Episcopal Church- Liberia. Whenever I sang this song I would have tears in my eyes. What a song, thank God for men of yesterday who knew God and today their words are still alive. Lord raise men up in these days that will shake the earth for your glory. - In respond to this song I pray. A-men!

The prolific British hymnwriter Frances Ridley Havergal wrote this hymn on 2/4/1874. "I went for a little visit of 5 days to Areley House," she explained. "There were 10 persons in the house, some unconverted and long prayed for, some converted but not rejoicing Christians. He gave me the prayer, 'Lord, give me all in this house!' And He just did. Before I left the house, everyone had got a blessing. The last night of my visit I was too happy to sleep, and passed most of the night in praise and renewal of my own consecration, and these little couplets formed themselves and chimed in my heart one after another, till they finished with 'Ever, only, ALL for Thee.'" As Frances wrote the words she capitalized ALL.

Two months earlier, she had made a complete surrender of herself to Christ and experienced "the blessedness of true consecration." She wrote, "I just yielded myself to Him, and utterly trusted Him to keep me." - Great Songs of Faith by Brown & Norton

It's amazing how a song can evoke one's desire to just wanna live for God. He's so enigmatic yet so apparent! He is God.

Such a beautiful and thoughtful lyrics. I used to sing this song back in the days in the dialect, but never has it have any meaning until now. Lord, just take my all and let me wholly be Thine. I love You Jesus... the Lord of my life.

Don’t be deceived, no man can prosper beyond the state of his heart because as a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Prov. 23:7). No wonder so many of us have been struggling in order to fulfill our calling without any result to show for it.

The LORD allowed me to awaken very early this morning in order to spend some uninterrupted time alone with Him. This is a rarity as a stay at home mother of three young children! As I was praying and asking the Holy Spirit to reveal to me what I need to change in my life to become more Holy, this song sprung to my mind. I haven't heard it since I was a child, and the lyrics resonated with the longing in my soul. "Take myself and I will be ever only all for Thee!"
