Thou hadst chosen us in love;
And that love, so deep, so moving,
Draws us close to Christ above,
And will keep us, and will keep us,
Firmly fixed in Christ alone,
Firmly fixed in Christ alone.
Yet our God is e’er the same;
His compassion and His cov’nant
Through all ages will remain.
God’s own children, God’s own children,
Must forever praise His name,
Must forever praise His name.
Is my boasting all the day;
Mercy free and never failing
Moves my will, directs my way.
God so loved us, God so loved us,
That His only Son He gave,
That His only Son He gave.
We will ever praise Thy love;
And our song will sound unceasing
Till we meet Thy Son above,
Giving glory, giving glory,
To our God and to the Lamb,
To our God and to the Lamb.

God's own children must forever praise His name. This song reminds me to praise the Lord. The Lord has won the victory. We just need to praise Him. By praising Him we uplift our eyes on Him from ourselves and our situations.

Ephesians 2:4 says "But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us"
According to the footnote, the love with which God loved us is an abundantly great love from which the richness of His mercy comes. This mercy reaches farther than His love. His mercy saves us from our pitiful condition of deadness in offenses and sins and brings us back to a condition which is suitable for His love. Hence, we are not consumed because we have been shown mercy!
Amen! Abba Father, we praise You and adore You for Your mercies are free and never failing! Only Your compassion is our story and our boasting!
