Amazing Grace

When I was pretty young I sang in the church youth choir. We did this song to the tune of an Animals song called House of the Rising Sun. At the time we had a younger youth choir leader and I’m not sure where he got the idea from, but it really sounds pretty cool to sing it to that tune. Actually I don’t sing it to the original tune anymore. It is a song that seems to touch people in a very positive way for some reason.

This song is healing. No matter what name you call him by, he loves each and everyone of us. He answers all prayers. You may not like his answer so you think he has failed you but he hasn’t.

I'm no longer a Christian after being old enough to make my own conscious decisions about religion, but something about this song is so addicting that after singing it every day for 3 years at school for choir, I still think of it unironically. It's so beautifully composed and written, it's a shame it's a directly religious song

If there is any song or lyrics that is fast changing souls, Amazing Grace is no 1. When one is down, let one sing it. At the dawn of an era, amazing grace is what is needed. Amazing Grace last for ever.

This Song is one of the best songs that lifts one’s spirit and can never be forgotten. When I listen to this songs, it makes me meditate so deeply. The lyrics are just filled with the Spirit of God. I listen to it every morning ❤️❤️

This is so encouraging to see all the different places where people are from, being able to see the lyrics of this awesome song. The man who wrote this used to be a slave trader! He wrote this and blessed billions!!!!!!!

It's a spiritual song that rejuvenates the spirit. I feel the anointing of His excellency the Lord Jesus Christ. I feel the power of God Almighty. Something is happening right now. Oh hallelujah

The words to this song were written in 1773, by John Newton who had once been invested in the slave trade and had captained slave ships going from Africa to the Americas. He came to see that slavery was an evil thing and left that life to become an Anglican cleric and abolitionist. One more bit of proof that people in the age of British and American slavery knew it was wrong and did all they could to bring it to an end. "Was blind, but now I see" People doing wrong are redeemable in society, even though we may not think they are.

This song is a healing song… in the midst of the darkness I remember my father and I know I have allowed my flesh to wallow me in darkness and eveytime I remember my father calling me and leading me back to the light this song touch’s my heart to remind me who called me here… I love this song coz it heals the deepest parts of my heart and severs my ties with the evil one like a two edged sword .
