Amazing Grace

1
Amazing grace! how sweet the sound,
  That saved a wretch; like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
  Was blind, but now I see.
2
’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
  And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
  The hour I first believed!
3
The Lord hath promised good to me,
  His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be
  As long as life endures.
4
When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
  Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
  Than when we first begun.

Amazing grace saved people life

I grew up singing this hymn in church. It has stuck with me all of my life. But this morning as the Holy Spirit was ministering to me how important grace is to my salvation, I got excited. The fact that believers are no longer under the law of sin but in the Spirit of Life. That through Christ Jesus we have this grace to rid ourselves of condemnation. And truly walk in the Spirit so we can be free indeed. This song came to my spirit as the Holy Spirit has given me true understanding of grace. Hallelujah, thank you Jesus. Amen!

This song overwhelms me always. I don't get enough of it no matter how long I sing it. it blesses my soul and spirit. Thank you Jesus for salvation.

We are familiar with the hymn "Amazing Grace." Although this is a good hymn, it does not speak of the Triune God as our portion for our enjoyment. When this hymn was written, the experiential knowledge of God among the Lord's people had not come to this point. Even as recent as fifty years ago, Christians did not have the understanding of grace as the Triune God experienced and enjoyed by us. But standing on the shoulders of those who have gone before us, we have come to know that grace is far more than merely unmerited favor. Grace is the Triune God—the Father, the Son, and the Spirit—processed for our experience and enjoyment.
