Hallelujah! sing to Jesus,
His the scepter, His the throne;
Hallelujah! His the triumph,
His the victory alone.
Hark, the songs of His redeemed ones
Thunder like a mighty flood:
Jesus out of every nation
Hath redeemed us by His blood.
His the scepter, His the throne;
Hallelujah! His the triumph,
His the victory alone.
Hark, the songs of His redeemed ones
Thunder like a mighty flood:
Jesus out of every nation
Hath redeemed us by His blood.

Hallelujah! not as orphans
Are we left in sorrow now;
Hallelujah! He is near us,
Faith believes, nor questions how.
Though the clouds from sight received Him
When the forty days were o’er,
Shall our hearts forget His promise,
“I am with you evermore“?
Are we left in sorrow now;
Hallelujah! He is near us,
Faith believes, nor questions how.
Though the clouds from sight received Him
When the forty days were o’er,
Shall our hearts forget His promise,
“I am with you evermore“?

Hallelujah! Bread of heaven,
Thou on earth our food, our stay;
Hallelujah! here the hungry
Come to Thee from day to day.
Advocate and Intercessor,
My Redeemer pleads for me,
On the throne of the Almighty
Now and to eternity.
Thou on earth our food, our stay;
Hallelujah! here the hungry
Come to Thee from day to day.
Advocate and Intercessor,
My Redeemer pleads for me,
On the throne of the Almighty
Now and to eternity.

Great hymn. I remember singing it at St. Alban's Anglican Church in the 80s. But stanza 1 verse 5 is different. We sang "Hark the songs of peaceful Zion... " if I remember well.

I am from Southern Kaduna (Kaduna State) but resident in Jos. I am evangelical (ECWA) but I sing this hymn at least once every month. The words sink so deep! Every stanza gives me encouragement and strength...... I choose not to dwell on doctrinal issues but dwell on the incontrovertible fact that God became Man, died for my sins, resurrected and ascended to heaven, sent The Holy Spirit to be my companion and helper! I am awaiting HIS soon glorious return..... This hymn is amazing.
