Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy riven side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Save me from its guilt and power.
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All could never sin erase,
Thou must save, and save by grace.
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress,
Helpless, look to Thee for grace:
Foul, I to the fountain fly,
Wash me, Savior, or I die.
When mine eyes shall close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.

As I listened keenly in silence to prayers, praises and testimonies on the character building for eternity praying this morning, I wonder in awe of God's grace and mercies towards me throughout the years. So I started my own devotion with the song (A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord, a wonderful Savior to me) after reading, prayer and reflecting on His mercies and all the things He had brought me through, I ended my devotion with Rocks of ages clef for me let me hide myself in Thee. God is truly my Rock of Ages in such a time as this. Let us continue to hold fast until He comes.
Love you immensely Lord ♥️♥️🙏🙏

How delightful to read all your comments below this hymn! I thank God for each one if you to lift my spirits this morning. God is so amazing, so divine and in some ways so mysterious that he would allow us and encourage us to build community to heal and support each other. Thanks God for your love and grace and thank God for you all. Continue to bless others.

I had this song in my cell phone which got spoilt. It came to mind this morning. Though I can sing the melody but the lyrics. I resolved to sing the song complete before I retire to bed. Lo and behold I found it here though some little changes from the audio I am conversant with.
Indeed, he who sings well prays twice!

This song came to my spirit this morning as I struggled to get up to pray. I searched for the lyrics and as I sang along, I realised that only the grace of God through Jesus Christ is my anchorage. Not the labor of my hands nor any works of the flesh can fulfill the laws' demands. I felt release and received peace knowing that Christ provides all my righteousness and the grace I need in my walk with Him. Thank you Jesus!!! O how I love you!!!

My group is studying J I Packer's book, Knowing God, and he suggested that singing "Rock of Ages" in a time of worship would help us understand the doctrine of God's grace! A response of joy & praise is a wonderful experience. May God be exalted!
