Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy riven side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Save me from its guilt and power.
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All could never sin erase,
Thou must save, and save by grace.
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress,
Helpless, look to Thee for grace:
Foul, I to the fountain fly,
Wash me, Savior, or I die.
When mine eyes shall close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.

Great hymn
Chester, England, United Kingdom
This hymn came into my head 2 days ago and all the words came back to me from when I was in junior school. I don't know why so suddenly but I know the Lord really blesses through this hymn. Perhaps we should re-introduce these old hymns to a new generation of believers!

You're cleft. You are our everything.

Very uplifting! The last verse reminds us all of where the journey ends. Days running into years and finally, it will end. May we be count worthy! Praise God!

A wonderful hymn. Shame you don't use the soaring English tune for it, rather than this jaunty one.

For anyone interested in background information to this hymn there are two comments by Ana Lara on April 17, 2020 and quite a lengthy one by Steve Miller on December 28, 2017.

Your site is such a great blessing to me to sing along and also use in congregation singing, so, thanks for your wonderful service.
I wanted to point out one small glitch, which if corrected, could be of big help in singing along:
In some hymns (for example: Rock of ages ) the pause between the stanzas is unreasonably long.
It’s just fine in most, but several hymns have this problem.
Can you please correct it if possible?
Thanks again,
May God our Father bless all of you.
