Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling—
Calling for you and for me;
Patiently Jesus is waiting and watching—
Watching for you and for me!
Calling for you and for me;
Patiently Jesus is waiting and watching—
Watching for you and for me!
Come home! come home!
Ye who are weary, come home!
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!
Ye who are weary, come home!
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!

Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading—
Pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not His mercies—
Mercies for you and for me?
Pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not His mercies—
Mercies for you and for me?

Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing—
Passing from you and from me;
Shadows are gathering, death-beds are coming—
Coming for you and for me!
Passing from you and from me;
Shadows are gathering, death-beds are coming—
Coming for you and for me!

Oh, for the wonderful love He has promised—
Promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon—
Pardon for you and for me!
Promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon—
Pardon for you and for me!

I was reading in Proverbs 9:1-6 and this hymn came to mind; God has specifically prepared a Spiritual feast for us in His Word: He longs to meet with us there and nourish us in His Presence. There is a similar invitation in Matthew 11:28-30.

I was taught this song as a child in Church and it's still one of my favorite Christian songs today. I am so thankful I grew up and was submerged in the Christian faith by two parents who were also raised in Christian homes themselves. Thanks be to God.

This song is being rendered by the Choir right now and I Googled it to sing along as I have forgotten some wordings.
God really lifted my Spirit as I sang along.
Praise God.

The person who commented about the “devotional” called “Jesus Calling”.... I can’t tell you how disturbing it is that they didn’t seem to know that the alleged “devotional” is actually a New Age book that peaches a different gospel and was basically a spirit channeled , ie it was given by a spirit claiming to be Jesus but teaches in contradiction to the Bible a DIFFERENT gospel and highly unbiblical teachings ie doctrines of demons.
Its important that people know this so they can be warned. If I had a copy of that book I would burn it and tell any demons that came into my life or home because if it to leave in the name of Jesus Christ.
If anyone wants more detail, Warren Smith, a firmer New Ager, now a Christian, goes into great detail on the teachings of that “devotional” and how they differ from the Bible & actual teachings of Jesus Christ
