What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.

Thank God for this song, it edified me as I sang aloud, pondering on all the lyrics. This was best answer for my current situations. The burden of life, fears of the future, all the what ifs, the fear of my family's security far away, just everything just got me moody, complaining, tired of even being the Jesus girl and I felt like going out there with my frustration and join them. Complaining to friends and forgetting how much God's me has been my habit.
This song came to my mind as I prayed this morning and I searched it out, prayed, cried and rejoiced that I found a faithful friend in Jesus.

Lately for a few weeks this old familiar hymn has been coming across my mind and soul , I know it’s God’s Holy Spirit , encouraging me with this song and instructing me to remember to pray , just give it all to Jesus my worries my doubts my fears , give it to Jesus because He cares about all that concerns His sheep( people) , it’s been carrying me through , so I look up the lyrics to it cause I get mix up with the verses and I want to thank Hymnal.net

Woke up this morning very burdened... while I made my husbands lunch at 5:30 the sun was coming up and I had a few of these lyrics go through my head but couldn't remember how the song started. I looked up and found these words and all of these awesome comments... I have never commented on a single thing on line but I was so encouraged that the same God that spoke through this song to me this morning, spoke to people across the world as well.. what an awesome, perfect, loving and caring Friend. My best Friend... I am humbled and actually prayed for some of you that commented. Thank you for sharing your faith and walk. Thank You Jesus that You are such a Friend and miraculous Healer.

This song always challenges me to bring everything to God in prayer, everything because of his love care and concern for each of us. It also reminds me of God's unconditional and everlasting love. Hallelujah.
