Shut from the fields of air,
And in my cage I sit and sing
To Him who placed me there;
Well pleased a prisoner to be,
Because, my God, it pleaseth Thee.
I sing the whole day long;
And He whom most I love to please
Doth listen to my song;
He caught and bound my wandering wing;
But still He bends to hear me sing.
A heart to love and bless;
And though my notes were e’er so rude,
Thou wouldst not hear the less;
Because Thou knowest as they fall,
That love, sweet love, inspires them all.
Abroad I cannot fly;
But though my wing is closely bound,
My heart’s at liberty;
For prison walls cannot control
The flight, the freedom of the soul.
These bolts and bars above!
To Him whose purpose I adore,
Whose providence I love;
And in Thy mighty will to find
The joy, the freedom of the mind.

Oh little bird I am! Praise the Lord that we are little birds that He cares for. We give praise to Him! Praise the Lord!

This is an amazing hymn, and I particularly enjoyed this line, "Well pleased a prisoner to be". We need to be those who have this loving relationship with the Lord, one where we are so captured by Him, that being removed from the world becomes a trivial thing when compared to being with our loving Captor.
Praise Him, because His limitation is the real protection to all of us.

A little bird I am, and the one who sets me free, who lets me fly and feel real peace. Lord Jesus is His name!
We may sometimes feel that to be "caged" in the Lord is a great limitation. But if the Lord has mercy on us, we will soon discover that this "cage" is actually a vast, exhaustless land flowing with milk and honey for our rest and satisfaction. "Oh to lie forever here; / Doubt and care and self resign / While He whispers in my ear, / "I am His and He is mine."

Amen saints. Hope I can find our church here in Leyte. I'm at Palompon now and I am hungry with spritual supply.

Praise the Lord! Our time of confinement will only strongly prove that we are in the Lord's hand, we are under His loving care and abounding grace. Hallelujah!

This hymn is very true. Sometimes our world is very cruel. This also includes our daily situations...sometimes we just feel that we are stuck in a cage nowhere to go, but remember we have the Lord! Call on Him! Even in that cage, through all our troubles and hardships... we can still turn to Him!
HAVE FAITH IN HIM SAINTS....!
