God holds the key of all unknown,
And I am glad;
If other hands should hold the key,
Or if He trusted it to me,
I might be sad.
And I am glad;
If other hands should hold the key,
Or if He trusted it to me,
I might be sad.

What if tomorrow’s cares were here,
Without its rest?
I’d rather He unlocked the day,
And, as the hours swing open, say,
My will is best.
Without its rest?
I’d rather He unlocked the day,
And, as the hours swing open, say,
My will is best.

The very dimness of my sight
Makes me secure;
For, groping in my misty way,
I feel His hand; I hear Him say,
My help is sure.
Makes me secure;
For, groping in my misty way,
I feel His hand; I hear Him say,
My help is sure.

I cannot read His future plans;
But this I know:
I have the smiling of His face,
And all the refuge of His grace
While here below.
But this I know:
I have the smiling of His face,
And all the refuge of His grace
While here below.

Enough; this covers all my wants;
And so I rest;
For what I cannot, He can see,
And in His care I saved shall be,
Forever blest.
And so I rest;
For what I cannot, He can see,
And in His care I saved shall be,
Forever blest.
Repeat the last line of each stanza.

This is a very humbling Hymn . It’s clearly indicates that it’s only God that is in control and our future is in His hands.

This is so beautiful!! Reminds me the good old days when piano tunes were part of my everyday life
Perth, WA, Australia
We have just fled Melbourne and arrived in Perth to primarily be reconnected with family. We actually feel like refugees, on one hand - elated in the freedom we’re experiencing, yet sad because our work is incomplete there along with all our friends, colleagues, personal belongings, vehicles etc. God is sovereign and we know He is with us.

This song lifts my soul and gives me hope when I am down.
It's awesome!!!

So great to listen to the sweet melodies of this soothing hymn on this platform. I wonder how I landed on it !!
It is my favourite church hymn, though all along I have been blessed by it in Luganda, my mother language. It is an added advantage for me to discover it in the Queen's language. I will share it with my family.
God bless this site!

I remember this lovely hymn and singing as a child!! It is so reassuring to know that my Saviour is in control.

A suitable hymn for the time of the Coronavirus.

"God holds the key of all unknown..." I sang this song for many years and I still feel it deep in my heart as the best ever. God is aware that my wisdom is foolishness, and thus keeps what belongs to me by Himself, what makes me very happy is that He provides it beat by beat and always it's the best. Hallelujah.

"The very dimness of my sight,makes me secure." We used to sing this hymn in high school and it is still as comforting and reassuring as it was then.
