Now it is the Lord;
Once it was the feeling,
Now it is His Word;
Once His gift I wanted,
Now, the Giver own;
Once I sought for healing,
Now Himself alone.
Only Christ I’ll sing;
Everything is in Christ,
And Christ is everything.
Now ’tis perfect trust;
Once a half salvation,
Now the uttermost;
Once ’twas ceaseless holding,
Now He holds me fast;
Once ’twas constant drifting,
Now my anchor’s cast.
Now ’tis trustful prayer;
Once ’twas anxious caring,
Now He has the care;
Once ’twas what I wanted,
Now what Jesus says;
Once ’twas constant asking,
Now ’tis ceaseless praise.
His it hence shall be;
Once I tried to use Him,
Now He uses me;
Once the pow’r I wanted,
Now the Mighty One;
Once for self I labored,
Now for Him alone.
Now I know He’s mine;
Once my lamps were dying,
Now they brightly shine;
Once for death I waited,
Now His coming hail;
And my hopes are anchored
Safe within the veil.

Once it was my feeling but now it is His word and only His word, and once I just hopped in Jesus but now I know is mine

The goal of a Christian should be like Paul în Philippians 3:8 to gain Christ. Christ has gained us that we will gain Him! May our dear Lord Jesus gain more lovers of Him în these days!

This hymn is so good, ~
Once ’twas painful trying,
Now ’tis perfect trust;
Once a half salvation,
Now the uttermost;
Once ’twas ceaseless holding,
Now He holds me fast;
Once ’twas constant drifting,
Now my anchor’s cast. ~
And to read the testimonies of all the saints, enjoying this hymn.
We love Him, because He first loved us.

Everything is in Christ and Christ is everything! Christ in us is the hope of glory. May we all grow up into Him in all things. We have been crucified with Christ and it is no longer we who live, but Him alone!

Every time I sing this hymn, it reminds me that spiritual growth is mandate. In Kampala most Christians are taught to ask things from God. which isn't bad because he is our father he ought to provide. But its more interesting when we grow, to realize all we need is CHRIST. halleluiah Christ is everything.
