Will your anchor hold in the storms of life,
When the clouds unfold their wings of strife?
When the strong tides lift, and the cables strain,
Will your anchor drift or firm remain?
When the clouds unfold their wings of strife?
When the strong tides lift, and the cables strain,
Will your anchor drift or firm remain?
We have an anchor that keeps the soul
Stedfast and sure while the billows roll,
Fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
Grounded firm and deep in the Savior’s love.
Stedfast and sure while the billows roll,
Fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
Grounded firm and deep in the Savior’s love.
2
It is safely moored, ’twill the storm withstand,
For ’tis well secured by the Savior’s hand;
And the cables passed from His heart to mine,
Can defy the blast, through strength divine.
For ’tis well secured by the Savior’s hand;
And the cables passed from His heart to mine,
Can defy the blast, through strength divine.
3
It will firmly hold in the straits of fear,
When the breakers have told the reef is near;
Though the tempest rave and the wild winds blow,
Not an angry wave shall our bark o’erflow.
When the breakers have told the reef is near;
Though the tempest rave and the wild winds blow,
Not an angry wave shall our bark o’erflow.
4
It will surely hold in the floods of death,
When the waters cold chill our latest breath;
On the rising tide it can never fail,
While our hopes abide within the veil.
When the waters cold chill our latest breath;
On the rising tide it can never fail,
While our hopes abide within the veil.

Indeed Christ is our only source of hope and security.. He is our ANCHOR which will never fail. He was Israel's Anchor while they were in bondage in Egypt... He protected them while He afflicted the egyptians with plagues. So to every believer in Christ.. He will of a surety be your Anchor. To those who have not believed on Christ for their soul's salvation.. Fall before Him on your knees in faith and ask Him for forgiveness for your sins: The Bible says: for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Time is drawing near when Christ.. Who is God... will take us out of this woe begotten world.. will you be caught up in glory or be left behind.. This is my message to you friend.. God bless you and save you in Jesus precious name amen.

This song is one of the songs we use to sang during the lockdown period. Shortly after lockdown mum got ill. During her time on sick bed she encouraged us to continue singing this particular song. She passed away few months ago. Listening to this song I realized she was telling me than the only anchor that can hold is that which is fastened in Christ Jesus. I love you mum for giving me God when others were giving earthly pleasures to their wards.

So amazing! This hymn is evergreen. I feel so refreshed whenever I play it or hear it sung. O LORD where else can I go or who else can I run to if not YOU? YOU are my Hiding place, my Fortress, my Shield and my SOLID ROCK. I am anchored in YOU. All glory to God Almighty.

Hebrews 6:13-20 comforted and quieted my heart this morning in my meditation, and my heart resonated with that precious old hymn. "This hope (God's twofold promise which He swore with an oath: 1. to bless us and 2. to make us a blessing) we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast..."
