Down from His glory

Down from His glory,
  Ever living story,
My God and Savior came,
  And Jesus was His name.
Born in a manger,
  To His own a stranger,
A Man of sorrows, tears and agony.

O how I love Him! How I adore Him!
My breath, my sunshine, my all in all!
The great Creator became my Savior,
And all God’s fulness dwelleth in Him.
2
What condescension,
  Bringing us redemption;
That in the dead of night,
Not one faint hope in sight,
God, gracious, tender,
  Laid aside His splendor,
Stooping to woo, to win, to save my soul.
3
Without reluctance,
  Flesh and blood His substance
He took the form of man,
  Revealed the hidden plan.
O glorious myst’ry,
  Sacrifice of Calv’ry,
And now I know Thou art the great “I AM.”

The first time I heard this, I fell in love with the music... it was sung in Italian which I don’t speak. Then I heard Charles Billingsley do it in English, and my heart leaped with an overwhelming joy. I can’t get enough of hearing it! Thank you Jesus for loving us enough to come down from your glory to give your life’s blood for us.... no words can express my gratitude.

We have an interim pastor who's got a great tenor, and I'm a contralto. We're going to get together and sing those religious words to O Sole Mio and wow the congregants right off their seats! We'll surprise them! And, hopefully, inspire them!

This is a great evangelical tool. Evangelical outreach in remote areas can be enriched using this medium. The song and music was used in our evening worship in Somerset, Jamaica.

I'm so thankful.
