From the heav’ns, O glorious Lord

1
From the heav’ns, O glorious Lord,
You as Spirit were outpoured;
Varied grace did You bestow
To Your church on earth below;
By Your faithfulness, O Lord,
Once again Your gifts afford.
2
I was baptized in Your name;
Spirits two thus one became;
Lord, Your Body has obtained
All Your gifts, all You’ve attained;
I’m a member, so, ’tis plain,
I, too, will this power gain.
3
Grant me power to proclaim
You’ve received the highest name;
Grant the gift that I might preach,
All Your works to sinners reach.
For Your service, knowledge grant,
Overcoming to implant.
4
Here, as hands are laid on me,
As I make a vow to Thee,
Gifts I long for solemnly.
On Your facts I base my plea:
Pow’r unlimited outpour;
Make us useful vessels, Lord.
