I was praying as I was preparing to do my bible study and the first words of this hymn came into my mind. I looked it up and found this website and sang the song with the piano. It expressed my wishes so well. I had not thought of this song in many years. Very thankful God brought it to mind..

Yesterday I woke up with difficult decisions to make. This hymn suddenly came into my mind. I then looked it up in my hymnal and found the words gave me peace and a sense of direction. I feel the Lord spoke through this hymn to give me the direction that God wants me to go.

Having some difficulty comprehending some content of a book having to do with Prayers and declarations, the words to this hymn came to my remembrance. Especially the verse “Open my eyes that I may see, glimpses of truth thou hast for me..... ” I believe it was confirmation that I will have an “illuminated mind” to have truth revealed to my spirit regarding some answer I am searching for!

I sit here this morning sobbing, longing for God to change me & save my marriage. This song, which I haven’t heard in years, came to mind. I am in such pain and have been demanding that God change my husband. I don’t know if that’s ever going to happen.... But I know he will change me as I lean on Him.

When I was in 1st grade I had this wonderful Grandmotherly type teacher her name was Mrs. Letterman. After we said the pledge of Allegiance she would sing this hymn and she taught it to us. Then it was everyday we sang Open My Eyes that I May See.
Ive been going through some spiritual things lately and Mrs. Letterman and this hymn keeps coming to mind.
