Master, speak! Thy servant heareth,
Waiting for Thy gracious word,
Longing for Thy voice that cheereth
Master, let it now be heard.
I am list’ning, Lord, for Thee;
What hast Thou to say to me?
Waiting for Thy gracious word,
Longing for Thy voice that cheereth
Master, let it now be heard.
I am list’ning, Lord, for Thee;
What hast Thou to say to me?

Often through my heart is pealing
Many another voice than Thine,
Many an unwilled echo stealing
From the walls of this Thy shrine.
Let Thy longed-for accents fall;
Master, speak! and silence all.
Many another voice than Thine,
Many an unwilled echo stealing
From the walls of this Thy shrine.
Let Thy longed-for accents fall;
Master, speak! and silence all.

Master, speak! though least and lowest,
Let me not unheard depart;
Master, speak! for oh, Thou knowest
All the yearning of my heart.
Knowest all its truest need;
Speak! and make me blest indeed.
Let me not unheard depart;
Master, speak! for oh, Thou knowest
All the yearning of my heart.
Knowest all its truest need;
Speak! and make me blest indeed.
4
Master, speak! and make me ready,
When Thy voice is truly heard,
With obedience glad and steady,
Still to follow every word
I am listening, Lord, for Thee:
Master, speak, oh, speak to me!
When Thy voice is truly heard,
With obedience glad and steady,
Still to follow every word
I am listening, Lord, for Thee:
Master, speak, oh, speak to me!
5
Speak to me by name, O Master,
Let me know it is to me;
Speak, that I may follow faster,
With a step more firm and free,
Where the Shepherd leads the flock
In the shadow of the Rock!
Let me know it is to me;
Speak, that I may follow faster,
With a step more firm and free,
Where the Shepherd leads the flock
In the shadow of the Rock!

God always speak but we're often too busy, too pre-occupied to listen. How He long to commune

This is my prayer as I bow down before the Almighty.
Master, speak! and make me ready,
When Thy voice is truly heard,
With obedience glad and steady,
Still to follow every word
I am listening, Lord, for Thee:
Master, speak, oh, speak to me.
I need you LORD.

This morning I'm reading John 10:1-10. I'm particularly touched by verse 5. "But they will never follow a stranger, in fact, they will ran away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice." Meditating on this verse, I have to admit the many "stranger's voices" seeking my attention on social media. For too often, I have followed a "stranger's voice" and drifted from my Saviour. At this point, praying that God tunes my ears to His voice alone, I faintly recalled the words of the second verse of this hymn. May the voice of the Lord silence all other voices pealing through the heart of every believer reading this. AMEN!

This has has always been a song of solace to me especially when I am down. Whenever it sounds at the stall at St. Anthony's Church on Sundays, I feel very fulfilled.

What powerful words! The song just dropped into my spirit this morning to sing and I had to look for the actual words! Father, speak to me amid the changing tides.
Master, speak! Thy servant heareth,
Waiting for Thy gracious word,
Longing for Thy voice that cheereth
Master, let it now be heard.
I am list’ning, Lord, for Thee;
What hast Thou to say to me?
Thank you Father for such comforting words. May this song continue to be a blessing to generations to come and bring comfort to any who's uncertain about things and looking to hear from you for direction.
