What a Friend we have in Jesus

1
What a Friend we have in Jesus,
  All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
  Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
  O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
  Everything to God in prayer!
2
Have we trials and temptations?
  Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
  Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
  Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
  Take it to the Lord in prayer.
3
Are we weak and heavy-laden,
  Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
  Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
  Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
  Thou wilt find a solace there.

I woke up with this song in my heart and I decided to Google it in order to feel its power of the song and meaning. Truly Jesus is the only true friend that can never forsake us all we need to do is to take everything to Him in prayer. Hallelujah!

When I listen to this hymn, I cry in my heart and my tears will flow down from my eyes. This is because "Jesus of Nazareth" is real to me and my only best friend in this world. Jesus has done a lot for me and He is continuously doing things for me. One night He walked into my room while I was still asleep, and He touched my cheek with His very warm hand. I was then awakened up, I sat upright with my eyes still shut, and I said to Him, Jesus " heal my asthma." Yes! He did, Jesus healed my 'asthma' and 'hayfever' on 12 June 2005. This is priceless gift. This was later confirmed by my doctor. May this miracle you hear becomes a blessing to you.

Jesus Christ is the only true friend. What a privilege we have that Jesus Christ, The King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, carries all our cares and burdens in times of distress and grief. I am made whole because of my Friend Jesus Christ. A special thanks to my Great Grandfather who made this his favourite hymn....!!!

I was meditating on 1 Peter 5:7 where it says "Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. 1 Peter 5:7 AMPC

I later went on to Psalm 55:22

"Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail). Psalm 55:22 AMPC

At the point of meditation, I was meditating on "casting all your care on Him. " Then I asked God, how do I cast my care on You. The answer I received was that, The Place of Prayer is where you cast all your cares, your worries, your burdens on Him. Speak those things you worry about, those burdens in your heart to God in the place of prayer. When that revelation came upon me, I remembered this hymn "All because we do not carry, everything to God in prayer". I had to search it out and sing it here with a new understanding. The lyrics then had deeper meanings to me than how I used to sing it. This hymn sums up the whole thing, God was trying to let me know.

Friend I tell you today, that you carry all your worries to God in prayer, speak it out to Him and those burdens shall be lifted. Hallelujah!

I encourage the believer (and non-believer as well) to read Psalm 25:14 and John 15:12-17. It is in these scriptures that the Lord Yeshua offers his friendship to the believer directly. In this offer of friendship, He promises to reveal Himself directly to the believer.

I encourage the believer to then read the words of this song and meditate on the friendship of the Lord. There are many people in our lives that we are proud to name as our friend. But the most faithful friend a believer would ever have in this life and in the next is the Lord Yeshua.

I thank the Lord for inspiring the writer of this song to write this song. I also give thanks for the person who set the melody to the song.

Celebrate the friendship of our Lord Yeshua by humming the song all day to yourself and walk with him today. You will experience His Peace, Joy and steadfast love.
