Amazing grace! how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch; like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
That saved a wretch; like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!

The Lord hath promised good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures.
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we first begun.
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we first begun.

I have found a total of 7 verses one particularly good to have for funerals. plus the one mentioned by Nathan...
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon
dissolve like snow
the sun forbear to shine
But God who calls me here below
Will be forever mine

Missing the third verse:
Through many dangers
Toils and snares,
I have already come.
Twas Grace that brought
Me safe thus far
And Grace will lead me home.

A beautiful song, I love it even more when played on the bagpipe. A single piper does the first refrain then the whole massed pipers (Black Watch and Highlanders) join. I play it as part of my prep to officiate a football game.
