Face to face with Christ, my Savior

E963
1
Face to face with Christ, my Savior,
Face to face—what will it be,
When with rapture I behold Him,
Jesus Christ who died for me?

Face to face I shall behold Him,
Far beyond the starry sky;
Face to face in all His glory,
  I shall see Him by and by!
2
Only faintly now, I see Him,
With the darkling veil between,
But a blessed day is coming,
When His glory shall be seen.
3
What rejoicing in His presence,
When are banished grief and pain;
When the crooked ways are straightened,
And the dark things shall be plain.
4
Face to face! O blissful moment!
Face to face—to see and know;
Face to face with my Redeemer,
Jesus Christ who loves me so.

While driving down to Church yesterday this song dropped heavily in my soul and I hummed it all through up till this morning. Fortunately the message in service was a challenge to true Christian living in the midst of the present darkness in world and gross backsliding of the Church and on the need serve Him with all our soul. It has been a kind of revival for me. And I am longing when this will become sight and I shall see Him by and by!

This song reminds of one of our stalwarts Elder Zacharia Gabanathwadi Nko.

He would literally stand up straight, looking up to the eastern sky, in church whenever this song is sung.

I shall see Him by and by!

I'm familiar with this hymn, but I had to look it up after reading today's devotion in Open Windows regarding Moses. I can't even imagine.

For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. 1 Corinthians 13:12

I praise God for the glimpses of his glory that I see now through the precious Word of God! This hymn describes beautifully the thoughts of my own heart as I contemplate seeing my beautiful Savior one day. In the meantime I rejoice in this Blessed Hope.

My aunt passed away this morning. She's face to face with Jesus who loved her and died for her.
