Will your anchor hold in the storms of life

1
Will your anchor hold in the storms of life,
When the clouds unfold their wings of strife?
When the strong tides lift, and the cables strain,
Will your anchor drift or firm remain?

We have an anchor that keeps the soul
Stedfast and sure while the billows roll,
Fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
  Grounded firm and deep in the Savior's love.
2
It is safely moored, 'twill the storm withstand,
For 'tis well secured by the Savior's hand;
And the cables passed from His heart to mine,
Can defy the blast, through strength divine.
3
It will firmly hold in the straits of fear,
When the breakers have told the reef is near;
Though the tempest rave and the wild winds blow,
Not an angry wave shall our bark o'erflow.
4
It will surely hold in the floods of death,
When the waters cold chill our latest breath;
On the rising tide it can never fail,
While our hopes abide within the veil.

I woke up this morning with this song on my lips and it woke my wife. I had to come find its lyrics here.

Thanks for putting it up here

This song gives me hope and I love it so much. Most times the tune plays in my head for hours or days but the moment I sing it out, oh my heart will be filled with joy and my day better.

My anchor will always remain SURE and STEADFAST. ⚓⚓

The ever surest and dependable anchor, we as children of the most high should firmly hold on to in this present moment in the world and forever is JESUS, hence no need to panic.

I woke up at 1am and this song was playing in my head. I went back to sleep after two hours and woke up at 6am and again this song was playing

A few minutes ago, again it is playing and right now I am singing

Oh My God, you are the anchor that keep my soul safe and secure, fastened to you Lord, grounded firm and deep in Your love Lord. Thank you Lord for the privilege of being your Child and knowing you as my Lord and My savior

I was in the back yard late this evening. I was thinking of the mess our world is in right now. I realized that a tune had come into my head and I had to work at it, to remember which hymn it was, and to remember the words. Turns out it was this hymn. When I looked it up to view the words to all the verses, I found this post. I have no doubt but what the Holy Spirit put this tune in my head today. I grew up in the 50's and 60's singing this song in church. I am amazed.

As I was riding on Subway to work this morning, the thought of the content of this song as I sang, brightened my heart with all that’s going on in the world since the coronavirus pandemic began. While none should be ignorant of the danger and consequences of the virus, we should remember, who’s in charge, God! Let your anchor hold, even in this storm of life, we shall get through it.
