Will your anchor hold in the storms of life

B192 E331 F64
1
Will your anchor hold in the storms of life,
When the clouds unfold their wings of strife?
When the strong tides lift, and the cables strain,
Will your anchor drift or firm remain?

We have an anchor that keeps the soul
Stedfast and sure while the billows roll,
Fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
  Grounded firm and deep in the Savior's love.
2
It is safely moored, 'twill the storm withstand,
For 'tis well secured by the Savior's hand;
And the cables passed from His heart to mine,
Can defy the blast, through strength divine.
3
It will firmly hold in the straits of fear,
When the breakers have told the reef is near;
Though the tempest rave and the wild winds blow,
Not an angry wave shall our bark o'erflow.
4
It will surely hold in the floods of death,
When the waters cold chill our latest breath;
On the rising tide it can never fail,
While our hopes abide within the veil.

This wonderful song was the class song of the Mariner Class of 1963 at Asbury University, Wilmore, Kentucky. In June we will have our 50th reunion and all sing the song together, probably with tears running down our cheeks! The song has reminded me of my true Anchor and I have been held firm in His love for 71 years.

I am 25 years old. My mother taught me this song 21 years ago, when I was only 4. All through my life whenever I'm faced with difficulty, this song comes to mine. I bless the Lord for the composer of this song. It has lived in me all through my whole life!! Truly, we have an anchor!!!

I bless the Lord for the composer of this great song. I first heard it at a branch of my church, Assemblies of God Church and just about a year later when I had issues with my relationship, the Lord brought the song back to my memory. I looked it up on the net and found it. My life has never remained the same afterwards. I call up the song each time I am weary and I get inspiration. Praise the Lord!
