My faith has found a resting place

1
My faith has found a resting place,
  Not in device nor creed;
I trust the Ever-living One,
  His wounds for me shall plead.

I need no other argument,
  I need no other plea;
It is enough that Jesus died,
    And that He died for me.
2
Enough for me that Jesus saves,
  This ends my fear and doubt;
A sinful soul I come to Him,
  He'll never cast me out.
3
My heart is leaning on the Word,
  The written Word of God,
Salvation by my Savior's name,
  Salvation through His blood.
4
My great Physician heals the sick,
  The lost He came to save;
For me His precious blood He shed,
  For me His life He gave.

Enough for me that Jesus saves,

This ends my fear and doubt;

A sinful soul I come to Him,

He’ll never cast me out. IT FACT, IT IS DONE HALLELUJAH TO THE LORD AND THE CHURCH

Thank you both.

Stephen Samuel and Beauty from Dallas

That really cleared things up for me and makes this hymn all the more meaningful now that I understand that phrase.

It is not by device that we can obtain salvation but by "trusting the ever-living One"

There is no other argument, There is no other plea. What Jesus did is ENOUGH!

It is Finished Jesus did said as the Paschal Lamb qualified enough to make that statement thereby signalling the Rest promised by the Father.

“There remain no more sacrifice or Ritual Jesus indeed is Enough for Me"

Device or creed in the first stanza doesn't speak of “his devices” - 2 Cor 2:11 KJV as in Satan's schemes, wiles, or strategies per se even though it is closely related and connects with the true meaning. Device or creed in this context depicts step plans principles and precepts of men, what Paul all over his epistles called and condemned as “enticing words of man's wisdom” 1 Cor 2: 4, “any other gospel” Gal 1:8-9, “philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. ” Col 2:8, etc, in which many have trusted instead of completely leaning and relying on the finished work of Christ Jesus.

Explaining the song, we could simply see the spirit of confidence in the writer who expresses his trust on what Christ has fully accomplished to redeem us from sin, in which no device or creed (twisted gospel) beats the match. In line with Paul’s words in 2 Cor 10:4-5), the writer declares his stand in the chorus; “I need no other argument,

  I need no other plea;

It is enough that Jesus died,

    And that He died for me. ” Child of God, you don't need no other argument over these things we face. Its enough that His blood is shed. Stand on that and move on. Only in the shed blood of Jesus Christ are we free indeed.
