Eliza Edmunds Hewitt's hymn is a powerful song that encourages all and sundry to have an assurance in the "faith" that we have in Our Lord Jesus Christ. The song itself admonishes Christians with little faith to start trusting God through His Son Christ Jesus.
Stanza 2 of the hymn gives hope to believers that Christ is the Only One who saves and as such we are not lost when we humbly come under His feet.
The hymn in stanza 3 further positions mankind to rely himself on God's Word alone which has the power to transform his life and grant him Salvation. It is my fervent prayer that as we patiently listen to this hymn, the Good Lord will prepare our hearts to rely on Him always. I am blessed.
