1
Amazing grace! how sweet the sound,
  That saved a wretch; like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
  Was blind, but now I see.
2
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
  And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
  The hour I first believed!
3
The Lord hath promised good to me,
  His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be
  As long as life endures.
4
When we've been there ten thousand years,
  Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
  Than when we first begun.

The Lord Almighty, a great helper in time of crucial needs, the silent father to the orphan, the transformer of gloom state to bloom state of life. Be thou exalted Lord!

This song is as old as time it seems. When I was a little girl my grandmother would hum and sing it always while she worked or rocked us kids. The Bible says that singing is another way to praise God and share the joy He has put inside us. I truly believe it also very impactful to others around you If would like to touch someone in a special way deep in their heart. Look at how many people remember this song here in their comments. Lovely and sweet, this song warms my very soul... thank you.

Is not this Amazing Grace God's one an only Son, Jesus Christ?

When we've been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, We've no less days to sing God's praise than when we first begun.....

10, 000 years and He's as new and fresh as when we first begun.

As old as time. It places parts of me closer to the praise of GOD in despair, grief, and emotional pain..... then redemption thru atonement.

This hymn is of Christian testimony after conversion. Conversion occurs when God the Holy Spirit convicts someone of their sin and unbelief, and they then repent and believe the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. He died for their sins, bearing them in His body on the tree at Calvary, ,and rose again from the dead three days later. (The gospel accounts of the passion of the Lord Jesus).

It is God's grace that brings them to become a born again Christian. this grace is undeserved by the sinner becoming a born again Christian.

And one day, in Heaven, we shall be like the stars that shine forever and ever. (Daniel).

We are familiar with the hymn "Amazing Grace." Although this is a good hymn, it does not speak of the Triune God as our portion for our enjoyment. When this hymn was written, the experiential knowledge of God among the Lord's people had not come to this point. Even as recent as fifty years ago, Christians did not have the understanding of grace as the Triune God experienced and enjoyed by us. But standing on the shoulders of those who have gone before us, we have come to know that grace is far more than merely unmerited favor. Grace is the Triune God—the Father, the Son, and the Spirit—processed for our experience and enjoyment.
