Led by grace that love to know;
Spirit, breathing from above,
Thou hast taught me it is so.
Oh, this full and perfect peace!
Oh, this transport all divine!
In a love which cannot cease,
I am His, and He is mine.
Earth around is sweeter green;
Something lives in every hue
Christless eyes have never seen:
Birds with gladder songs o'erflow,
Flow'rs with deeper beauties shine,
Since I know, as now I know,
I am His, and He is mine.
Cannot now disturb my rest;
Closed in everlasting arms,
Pillowed on the loving breast.
Oh, to lie forever here,
Doubt and care and self resign,
While He whispers in my ear,
I am His, and He is mine.
Who the Lord and me shall part?
Ah, with what a rest of bliss
Christ can fill the loving heart.
Heaven and earth may fade and flee,
Firstborn light in gloom decline;
But, while God and I shall be,
I am His, and He is mine.

Such a beautiful love song.... comforting... tears always flow. Highlighting verse 3: Like little children, we can climb upon the lap of our Heavenly Father, lay our heads upon His breast and tell Him where it hurts - all the cares, fears and anxieties. As we allow Him to reassure us that we are His and He is ours we find true rest.
It's my "go to" song whenever I feel anxious, sad or alone... and I'm comforted

This hymn is not about assurance of salvation, It is much deeper. It is about our confidence in His love. Verse one says we are led by grace that love to know. When He keeps coming to us in our pitiful state, we really know His love. Everything becomes temporal, but His love is eternal. So as long as God and I shall exist, He is mine and I am His.

To say that “I am my beloved’s” does not mean that He is the Master possessing us as His servants. It means that we are His love. This relationship is not that between master and slave, but the affectionate relationship between husband and wife. - LS of Exodus Msg 55

While reading the words of the hymn, the Spirit took me way back to when I was born again. I recall thinking I was going insane, for the sky indeed looked bluer than ever before and colours were more vibrant. Sadly I walked away for a number of years, I simply couldn't handle it. Mercifully the Lord brought me back.

Strangers and Pilgrims Here Below
Weary with My Load of Sin.
One of his poems, The Disciple (by G. W. Robinson), Loveland and Other Poems reads this way:
O it is sweet here at Thy feet,
Sitting like children Thy wisdom to learn,
Watching that face perfect in grace,
Feeling our hearts in an ecstasy burn.
Earth with her eyes lofty and wise
Passes us by with a scorn in her looks;
We are but fools, hers are the schools,
Hers is the wisdom of sages and books.
O it is sweet here at Thy feet,
Drinking that wisdom which comes from above,
Seeing all night flee from Thy light,
Phantom philosophies vanish at Love.
Lo, it is dawn! darkness is gone!
How the land stretches in brightness away!
Still do men bare tapers with care,
Day is around, and they see not the day,
O it is sweet here they feet,
O it is sweet, and is pitiful, too!
Were they but wise! had they but eyes
Only to see that Creation is new!
Now we are filled, now we are stilled,
Past is the fainting and hushed is the strife,
Truth has her sphere, Christ, in Thy tear,
Love is the ocean, a river is Life.
Oh, it is sweet here at Thy Feet—
Here at Thy feet, for Thy wisdom is Thou;
Master divine, are we not Thine?
Wilt Thou not ever be with us now?
