The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell.
It goes beyond the highest star
And reaches to the lowest hell.
The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled
And pardoned from his sin.
Than tongue or pen can ever tell.
It goes beyond the highest star
And reaches to the lowest hell.
The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled
And pardoned from his sin.
O love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure—
The saints' and angels' song.
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure—
The saints' and angels' song.

When hoary time shall pass away,
And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall;
When men who here refuse to pray,
On rocks and hills and mountains call;
God's love, so sure, shall still endure,
All measureless and strong;
Redeeming grace to Adam's race—
The saints' and angels' song.
And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall;
When men who here refuse to pray,
On rocks and hills and mountains call;
God's love, so sure, shall still endure,
All measureless and strong;
Redeeming grace to Adam's race—
The saints' and angels' song.

Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made;
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.
And were the skies of parchment made;
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.

God is teaching me to worship the Father AND the Son. This is such a hymn of praise. Your comments are sweet fellowship to me as I am in a new town and have no roots here yet. Blessings!

Enjoy this hymn very much together with Eph. 2:4-5:
But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in offenses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved).

"Wow". This is one of the most amazing hymns. Very moving. Our words can't describe God's love. It will endure forever. It's my prayer, that everyone may know God's love to its fullness.

Just heard this on Pandora. It was one of Pastor Chuck Smith s favorites. Can't hear it w/o thinking of and thanking the Father for him. I just had to look up the lyrics to meditate. Very sweet!

This song has been on my mind for a while, and I plan to give scriptures with it on Facebook in my Group "The Truth Connection". We hear so much about so many things, but forget to emphasize it's all about His Love. Thank you for the very thing He has pressed upon my mind through his Ruach Qodesh (Spirit) to post to my many friends that are Followers of Yeshua.

For days this tune was running around in my head, I've heard it many times as I grew up but could not remember all the words. It means more to me now than ever before as I have lived and loved music into my eighties. Music has now become a way of meditation on God's great love for His creation.

This was my Daddy's favorite hymn......many years ago he told us he wanted this sung at his funeral......which we did.........
He was a Navy man, so Verse 3 is especially meaningful......
Every time I visit his Final Resting Place, I sing it to him.
Including today.
After days and weeks of snow and sleet and cold rain, this Sabbath Day was stunningly Wow God Warm and Beautiful.....and Daddy's Birthday....
Blessings all mine, with Ten Thousand beside.....
Blessings!

This song is wonderful. I came to this site to see all the verses. How exciting and joy producing to see all the believers across the world who have been moved by God's love, like me. Thank you all for commenting.
