I grew up on the old hymns, however I don't get to sing them anymore in church. And I miss them and their meaning dearly. This song had been on my mind for days and now I know all the words. I have been struggling with bitterness about various things not falling in place in my family. I could not pray because of this. This morning God woke me up with this song in my spirit. And I feel such a release and feel enveloped by His love. The assurance that his mercy drops have always been there for us, that the showers will come is such a blessing. Indeed, We have more than mercy drops. The song reminded me afresh to trust, reminded me that my bitterness is disobedience, reminded me to have faith and so many other things. I have prayed for His forgiveness and I walk on this morning in the knowledge that we are not forgotten. I thank God for reaching into the miry clay of my bitterness to love me.
