Oh, spread the tidings 'round, wherever man is found,
Wherever human hearts and human woes abound;
Let every Christian tongue proclaim the joyful sound:
The Comforter has come!
Wherever human hearts and human woes abound;
Let every Christian tongue proclaim the joyful sound:
The Comforter has come!
The Comforter has come,
The Comforter has come!
The Holy Ghost from heav'n,
The Lord's dear promise giv'n;
Oh, spread the tidings 'round,
Wherever man is found—
The Comforter has come!
The Comforter has come!
The Holy Ghost from heav'n,
The Lord's dear promise giv'n;
Oh, spread the tidings 'round,
Wherever man is found—
The Comforter has come!

The long, long night is past, the morning breaks at last;
And hushed the dreadful wail and fury of the blast,
As o'er the golden hills the day advances fast!
The Comforter has come!
And hushed the dreadful wail and fury of the blast,
As o'er the golden hills the day advances fast!
The Comforter has come!

Lo, the great King of kings, with healing in His wings,
To every captive soul a full deliv'rance brings;
And through the vacant cells the song of triumph rings:
The Comforter has come!
To every captive soul a full deliv'rance brings;
And through the vacant cells the song of triumph rings:
The Comforter has come!

O boundless love divine! how shall this tongue of mine
To wond'ring mortals tell the matchless grace divine—
That I, a child of hell, should in His image shine!
The Comforter has come!
To wond'ring mortals tell the matchless grace divine—
That I, a child of hell, should in His image shine!
The Comforter has come!

As I alighted in front of the school gate yesterday morning, this hymn jumped into my spirit. And now, it's obvious that the Comforter, my Comforter came along with me to school. I have enjoyed His communion and companionship.

Through all the difficulties and heaviness of heart tied to being a Nigerian at this point in history, the endless frustrations and disappointments;. and amidst all the perplexing and harrowing experiences the body of Christ face everyday in this part of the world, what joy to know that the promised Comforter has come and He's here to abide with us! Oh, how soothing the message that we'll shine in His image and see the break of a new dawn from the sorrows we've been through to an endless day with Jesus.
Hallelujah! The Comforter has come!

I woke up this morning with this rich hymn in my thought and I began to search for it... So happy I found it here. Thank you hymnal.net.
What a glorious time I had with our little kids singing it over and over again. With the help of the piano accompaniment it became easier for them to sing along with me. OUR KIDS SHOULD BE ENCOURAGED TO SING HYMNS...
I am so blessed and uplifted this morning through singing this lovely and rich hymn. I am comforted through pain, sickness and every challenge in the pathway of life for the COMFORTER HAS COME. Hallelujah!!!

The Comforter has come! What else do we need or want?
Father You've fully met our need! Thank You. We love You!
Do strengthen us, to fully open our hearts, to all that You have given to us in Your Son. Father we worship You. We are so grateful! Amen!

I have just found myself listening to this song with tears rolling down my face. Although I don't always subscribe to the idea of spiritual intervention in my life struggles, this song makes me feel trully Jesus is the comforter in chief.

Today, I sang this song in my dreams. When I woke up I heard myself singing it. It's amazing. God is with us always.

What a lovely gift from the Father, Jesus, our Comforter. Since Jesus could only be with men face to face when He walked the earth, He told His disciples He would send a better gift, the Comforter, since He (Jesus) could then be with men in all places at the same time. He (Jesus) will be with us through His Holy Spirit (the Comforter) until the end of the world. Praise be to God the Father and Jesus, the Son!

This is the second time I will see myself singing this song in my dreams in as many months as of recent time. I believe this is a prophetic gesture! My spirit receives the reality of this song in my life in the name of Jesus.
