Immortal, invisible, God only wise

B14 E14 P8 R10 T14
1
Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.
2
Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting, Thou rulest in might;
Thy justice like mountains high soaring above
Thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.
3
To all life Thou givest, to both great and small;
In all life Thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither and perish, but nought changeth Thee.
4
Great Father of Glory, pure Father of Light
Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight;
All laud we would render, O help us to see:
'Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee.
5
Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.

I've been very passionate with this song sing childhood it’s my mum’s best hymn. Anytime we hear her singing it we are sure of a special meal for that day. God is truly immortal and invisible and the only wise God. I than Him for his unending love.

Immortal, invisible, the only wise God indeed. HE is God all by himself and nothing can change that, irrespective of human beliefs or views. He is my God and to Him shall my praise be - Amen.

My first hymnal growing up in an Anglican Grammar School in Nigeria. The majestic name of our eternal father is worthy to praised. Our continue to worship God with this hymnal until I put off this mortality into immortality. What a beautiful song.

I sing this to glorify my God nevertheless when we cross over to the other side to be with God should not be seen as perishing. It is body that perishes, our spirit returns to his maker for an award or condemnation. Our body is the earthly container that is of the dust, and shall return to dust. Our spirit is of God and will not perish. May the Spirit of God help us in this earthly sojourn to live pleasing God.

An amazing hymn that has a way of making me feel the presence of God nearer.

Havent heard it in years.

Thank You Father for reminding me that my life us like flowers that bloom. then fade away and perish.... but naught changeth Thhe.

I sang this song growing up but never truly appreciated the words as I do now. I feel lifted into God's presence each time I sing the song.
