Jesus, keep me near the cross,
There a precious fountain,
Free to all—a healing stream,
Flows from Calv'ry's mountain.
There a precious fountain,
Free to all—a healing stream,
Flows from Calv'ry's mountain.
In the cross, in the cross,
Be my glory ever;
From the cross my ransomed soul
Nothing then shall sever.
Be my glory ever;
From the cross my ransomed soul
Nothing then shall sever.

Near the cross, a trembling soul,
Love and mercy found me;
There the Bright and Morning Star
Sheds its beams around me.
Love and mercy found me;
There the Bright and Morning Star
Sheds its beams around me.

Near the cross! O Lamb of God,
Bring its scenes before me;
Help me walk from day to day,
With its shadow o'er me.
Bring its scenes before me;
Help me walk from day to day,
With its shadow o'er me.
4
Near the cross I'll watch and wait,
Hoping, trusting ever,
Till I see my Savior's face,
Leave His presence never.
Hoping, trusting ever,
Till I see my Savior's face,
Leave His presence never.

Fanny Crosby wrote so many wonderful faith filled songs even tho' she was blind. The cross and shed blood of Jesus is our gateway to the blessings and provision of the new covenant we are to live and walk in. Paull commended Philemon for his intent and complete understanding of every thing we have in Christ through the cross and the new covenant. My prayer is that all believers would have a complete understanding of all we have in and through the cross of our Lord Jesus

The very first hymn I was able to learn and memorize just because of its impact on my life and ever since, there is no looking back.
I also found this in the Bible in Galatians 6:14.
The hymn always blesses my soul, reminding me of the prize my Lord Jesus paid for me. May I glory only in the Cross. Amen!
