Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy riven side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Save me from its guilt and power.
Can fulfill Thy law's demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All could never sin erase,
Thou must save, and save by grace.
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress,
Helpless, look to Thee for grace:
Foul, I to the fountain fly,
Wash me, Savior, or I die.
When mine eyes shall close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.

I woke this morning and the first words on my one were “Rock of ages cleft for me” I realize I cannot attain righteousness all on my own, but only through the Grace of my Rock Of ages, Jesus Christ.
Let me hide my self in thee…
The Rock of ages cleft for me.. The Holy Spirit wants me to sing praise to God today through this song.. and to meditate upon the words.

Jesus Christ the Rock of my Salvation, cleft for me. He is my Hiding Place from which the Living Water flow.
I love this song with all my heart soul and mind.

The rock followed the Israelites as they traversed the wilderness and that rock was Christ. This rock was cleft or smitten for me. The Lord did not have to allow this. There is now a place where we can go and be watered. Water signified life.

I have no righteousness. I keep straying from the path, avoiding responsibilities, living with regret and shame. "Nothing in my hands I bring, simply to Thy cross I cling".
