Free from the law—oh, happy condition!
Jesus hath bled, and there is remission;
Cursed by the law and bruised by the fall,
Christ hath redeemed us once for all.
Jesus hath bled, and there is remission;
Cursed by the law and bruised by the fall,
Christ hath redeemed us once for all.
Once for all—oh, sinner, receive it;
Once for all—oh, doubter, believe it;
Cling to the cross, the burden will fall,
Christ hath redeemed us once for all.
Once for all—oh, doubter, believe it;
Cling to the cross, the burden will fall,
Christ hath redeemed us once for all.

There on the cross your burden upbearing,
Thorns on His brow your Savior is wearing;
Never again your sin need appall,
You have been pardoned once for all.
Thorns on His brow your Savior is wearing;
Never again your sin need appall,
You have been pardoned once for all.

Now we are free—there's no condemnation;
Jesus provides a perfect salvation:
"Come unto Me," oh, hear His sweet call,
Come, and He saves us once for all.
Jesus provides a perfect salvation:
"Come unto Me," oh, hear His sweet call,
Come, and He saves us once for all.

Children of God—oh, glorious calling,
Surely His grace will keep us from falling;
Passing from death to life at His call,
Blessed salvation once for all.
Surely His grace will keep us from falling;
Passing from death to life at His call,
Blessed salvation once for all.

Reading the book by Philip Yancey, "What's So Amazing About Grace" and this song came to mind. Couldn't recall all the words so I looked it up. Such a telling song! So sad we don't hear these hymns much anymore.

I was rereading Romans 8 and this old hymn came racing back; I did remember most of the words but I was refreshed in seeing them all. Thank You Jesus for making this possible.

Praise the Lord! Sin shall not nave dominion over us for we are not under law but under grace. As I was praying through the verses in Daily Light I was reminded of this wonderful hymn. I appreciate this website so much where I can find a hymn that the Lord brings to my attention. Thank you!

I am so glad that Christ did NOT have to suffer like He suffered more than one time! Once was enough for ever!!

Great hymn! I was thinking about the truths I believe about my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the song came into my mind. I was not sure of the complete lyric and went to the net to find it. Shall appreciate if I have the sol fa notation of the song.
Great hymn. Thank you.

This hymn has been my praise song for over 50 years, and it will be sung at my memorial service! It testifies to the power Scripture truth set to music. It belongs in every Christian hymnal and sung by every choir!

The first and last verses are great - but you have "children of man" - I learned it "Children of God, oh, glorious calling" - which is biblically correct. Perhaps you will want to change it.

What a beautiful, spiritual hymn! Our Bible Class pastor Dr. Jim Bailiff here at Bay Village introduced it to us today. We'll study it to sing next week on Weds. at Bible class. Thank you so much. Both the message and music are so beautiful! THANK YOU.
