Fill My Cup, Lord

LSM207 NS340
1
Like the woman at the well, I was seeking
For things that could not satisfy.
And then I heard my Savior speaking—
“Draw from My well that never shall run dry.”

Fill my cup, Lord;
I lift it up Lord;
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul.
Bread of Heaven, feed me till I want no more.
Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole.
2
There are millions in this world who are seeking
For pleasures earthly goods afford.
But none can match the wondrous treasure
That I find in Jesus Christ my Lord.
3
So my brother if the things that this world gives you
Leave hungers that won’t pass away,
My blessed Lord will come and save you
If you kneel to Him and humbly pray—

I'm in counseling for food addiction which I believe to be a spiritual issue. I have put my food cravings before God. I need to put God as my first priority, to fill my life, my soul with Him. I have sung this song many times but never in this context. Anyone who has a craving other than God, read this and see if it doesn't speak to you! God can and will feed me and fill me til I want nothing else if I will only let Him. I will let Him!!

This song brought tears from an advanced Alzheimer patient. That is how powerful this song is when the Spirit is involved in it.

I woke up this morn with this beautiful song on my lips. Father in Heaven this day I pray that You fill me till I want no more. My prayer goes out to anyone such person who reads this comment.

I was in prayer this morning talking to the Lord about tomorrow's sermon. This song came back to me from so many years ago. I began to sing it and God's presence just washed over me. Tears began to flow. I never knew the verses just the chorus. I'm preaching on John 4, the woman at the well. Jesus told her if you knew Me you would ask of Me living water! The first verse is about her. Thank You Jesus!

Wow, this brings back such amazing memories of my childhood. It's humbling to feel the power of our GOD who reigns absolute and supreme. We come to Him completely empty and He fills us. Thank You Lord! It's so great to see the comments of other believers. Although we are strangers on earth...we are brothers and sisters in Christ and I so look forward to meeting you all face to face one day in heaven.

I grew knowing this song and so many others. In my worse times I am the women at the well. This is a very powerful song. Thank You my Lord.
