Long before the Lord

Long before the Lord
I wholeheartedly implored,
Hoping I from sin would be set free.
Mercy He outpoured
And this answer did afford:
Spirit’s manifest in me.

Spirit’s manifest in me.
Bonds are broken! I’m set free!
He released my soul from sin;
All my being praises Him:
Spirit’s manifest in me.
2
Weak for years and maimed,
Useless vessel I remained;
Though within I knew I strong should be.
All at once, grace came;
And with joy I now proclaim:
Spirit’s manifest in me!
3
Of the Spirit’s might
I can testify aright,
For He’s caused my heart enlarged to be.
I’ve been freed from pride,
From sin’s habits purified:
Spirit’s manifest in me.
4
Now I’ve certainty
I the face of God can see;
Fully cleansed, I’m shining radiantly.
In my spirit, He’s
All-sufficient grace to me:
Spirit’s manifest in me.
