Master, speak! Thy servant heareth

E808 T808
1
Master, speak! Thy servant heareth,
  Waiting for Thy gracious word,
Longing for Thy voice that cheereth
  Master, let it now be heard.
I am list’ning, Lord, for Thee;
What hast Thou to say to me?
2
Often through my heart is pealing
  Many another voice than Thine,
Many an unwilled echo stealing
  From the walls of this Thy shrine.
Let Thy longed-for accents fall;
Master, speak! and silence all.
3
Master, speak! though least and lowest,
  Let me not unheard depart;
Master, speak! for oh, Thou knowest
  All the yearning of my heart.
Knowest all its truest need;
Speak! and make me blest indeed.
4
Master, speak! and make me ready,
  When Thy voice is truly heard,
With obedience glad and steady,
  Still to follow every word
I am listening, Lord, for Thee:
Master, speak, oh, speak to me!
5
Speak to me by name, O Master,
  Let me know it is to me;
Speak, that I may follow faster,
  With a step more firm and free,
Where the Shepherd leads the flock
In the shadow of the Rock!

In the content of Jonah, the Lord called him to go to Nineveh. We also see the king of Nineveh respond to the Master speak. Help O Lord, let thy servant listen in this end time more

This is a good prayer for everyone that desire live. There are so much distractions and it's only the voice of the Master that can lead and direct us in the best way.

Thank you Jesus, for your divine grace.

This hymn just blessed me this morning.

Oh! Dear Master, I'm waiting for thine voice that blesses. LORD speak to me and silence all another voice not from thine.

Dear LORD open my ears to hear you clearly.

God always speak but we're often too busy, too pre-occupied to listen. How He long to commune

This morning I'm reading John 10:1-10. I'm particularly touched by verse 5. "But they will never follow a stranger, in fact, they will ran away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice." Meditating on this verse, I have to admit the many "stranger's voices" seeking my attention on social media. For too often, I have followed a "stranger's voice" and drifted from my Saviour. At this point, praying that God tunes my ears to His voice alone, I faintly recalled the words of the second verse of this hymn. May the voice of the Lord silence all other voices pealing through the heart of every believer reading this. AMEN!
